Day 1. 

Departure from Kraljevo at 10 AM. drive to Vršac with a break. Coming to Vršac and a short tour of the city. Continuation of the journey and crossing the Serbian Romanian border at Vatin.

Coming to Timisoara  city tour: Cathedral Church of the Serbian Orthodox Church dedicated to St. George (built in 1748. and in which there is a valuable iconostasis, the work of Konstantin Danilo and master Mihailo Janic from Arad), Vladičanski Dom, Unification Square, Freedom Square with the Guard building and the Old Town House. Continuation of the walk to the Second City Square Victory Square with the oldest city building-Huniazilor castle (built in the XV century by the Order of Duke of Transylvania Iancu de Hunadoir – in our history known as Sibinjanin Janko) which is today the Museum of Banat, where at one end there is the building of the Opera and the National Theatre ( which has a repertoire in Romanian, German and Hungarian) and at the other the Cathedral Church of the Banat Metropolitan of the Romanian Orthodox Church, and between them is the youngest city square, elongated in shape with a series of city palaces from the rear the children of Austro-Hungarian ( made in the style of academism and secession ) rule and the statue of a wolf nursing Romulus and Remus ( gift of the city of Rome in 1926.). Visit the Romanian cathedral where the relics of St. Joseph of Timisoara are located. Free time. Continue the journey to Petra Nemet in 22h. night drive.

Day 2. Coming to the monastery Sihastia

Sihasti Monastery it is the most numerous male mananstir in Romania.
In it are kept two miraculous icons of the mother of God and fragments of the relics of several Saints.
The monastery contains the tomb and cell of the famous elder – father Cleopatra, one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the 20th century. century throughout orthodoxy, as well as a cell containing certain objects that belonged to the also famous elder, father Paisius (altar). 

Continue the journey to Seku monastery 

Seku Monastery it was built in 1602. in the Year of Nestor URECA, father of the summer Writer Gregory URECA-dedicated to the"cutting of the head of St. John the Baptist". The museum collection of Seku monastery includes a large number of icons, manuscripts and old books (some considered bibliophile rarities), embroidery, cult objects made of precious metals, organized in the form of permanent exhibition of priceless value.

Visit the monastery and continue the journey to Nyamc monastery 

Nyamc Monastery it is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in Moldova. It was built by Petru Musat between 1375-1391. years. He was and remains active throughout his entire history, starting from 14. he reached his peak at 18. there were 1,000 monks here. Today it has a brotherhood of 57 monks. The new church is the largest and most impressive church whose endowment was Stephen The Great. In this monastery are kept two miraculous icons of the mother of God, the Tomb of St. Paisius Velichkovsky and the relics of a saint of unknown name, which were taken in 1986. years discovered themselves, raising concrete on the path under which they were located. At the end of the life of the unknown saint, the head of St. Simeon Divnogorac is kept. One miraculous icon of the mother of God, a copy of our Trinity, was brought from the Holy Mountain by St. Paisius Velichkovsky, who was the elder of the monastery at the time when St. John (Jacob) Hosevite received the monastic tonsure. Another miraculous icon of the mother of God is the lithic, which on the other hand has the image of St. George the Great Martyr.

Day 3.

Breakfast. Departure for Bukovina. The arrival in the heart of Bukovina in the place Gura Humuruloi in whose surroundings are located outside and inside frescoes painted monasteries of Bukovina, built in the 15th century. and 16. century since 1993. year part of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The monasteries of Voronets, humor, Moldovitsa, Arbor and Sućevitsa are governed by a unique spirit of complete harmony established between human artistic genius and the beautiful environment in which the monasteries are located. We will visit the Voronets Monastery - "Sistine Chapel of the East". It was built in 1488. Stephen The Great, in praise of his victory over the Turks, as the fulfillment of a vow made to the Apostle Daniel Hesychast. This most famous and magnificent among the Painted monasteries of Bukovina is dedicated to St. VMC. George.  

Then we will travel to Suceava where we will visit the monastery of St. John The New, which was built between 1514. by 1522.years and cherish his relics.

 

Our journey further takes us only about 10 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, where the Putna monastery is located, one of the most important places in the Romanian church-folk and cultural life, and that is why it is called The "Jerusalem of the Romanian people". It was founded in 1466. by Prince Stephen The Great, in gratitude for the conquest of the Fortress of Chilia. Paying homage to this sacred place, we visited one of the richest museums of the Romanian church, which has numerous manuscripts, precious miniatures, embroidered canvases, icons, liturgical books and objects. We also saw Ephimia's embroidered cloak made around 1405. the year, which is one of the most lavish works in medieval applied art in the Balkans. It is on silk with gold and silver thread. From the monastery, we went further to the nearby Hermitage of St. Danilo Otshelnik (Hesychast), who convinced Stefan The Great to continue the fight against the Turks and whose grave is in the Monastery of Voronec. Day 4.

The road takes us to the Targu OKNA salt mine, where we drive 3 km by bus 240 m underground. Here we visit the first underground Orthodox Church in Europe– the Church of St. Mary of the Barbarians – protector of miners. In front of the altar on the iconostasis there are 24 icons. The iconostasis, the throne, the beautiful chandelier that lights the church, was made from Salt by miners in 1992. The priest served Sunday morning during our visit. By the way, underground is a whole set of huge corridors with places for rest, entertainment, commerce, etc.

Free time and then leave for Sinai. A short tour Brash. Visit Sinai and visit Peles Castle, one of the best preserved royal castles in Europe. In the magnificent mountain ambience of the Carpathian Mountains it was built in the neo-classical style, in the period from 1873. by 1914. After Peles, the group could also see Pelisor, a smaller castle, from where Queen Marija Karadjordjevic, wife of King Alexander I of Yugoslavia and mother of the last Yugoslav King, Peter II, came to the Serbian court.

Tour Sinai monastery

Sinai Monastery is a male monastery of the Holy Trinity from 1695, also known as the "Church of the mountain of Bućegi", an endowment of the Romanian nobleman Mihai Kantakuzin, who was enchanted by the impressions from the pilgrimage from the Holy Land and Mount Sinai, upon his return decided to build a monastery and name it after the name of Mount Sinai. Before departing back to Serbia, our group visited the beautiful center of Sinai, the former summer vacation destination of the Romanian aristocracy, and now the most famous and oldest tourist center of Romania.
