Day 2. Coming to the monastery Sihastia

The monastery contains the tomb and cell of the famous elder – father Cleopatra, one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the 20th century. century throughout orthodoxy, as well as a cell containing certain objects that belonged to the also famous elder, father Paisius (altar).

Nyamc Monastery it is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in Moldova. It was built by Petru Musat between 1375-1391. years. Breakfast. Departure for Bukovina. Then we will travel to Suceava where we will visit the monastery of St. John The New, which was built between 1514. by 1522.years and cherish his relics.
Our journey further takes us only about 10 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, where the Putna monastery is located, one of the most important places in the Romanian church-folk and cultural life, and that is why it is called The "Jerusalem of the Romanian people". It was founded in 1466. by Prince Stephen The Great, in gratitude for the conquest of the Fortress of Chilia. Paying homage to this sacred place, we visited one of the richest museums of the Romanian church, which has numerous manuscripts, precious miniatures, embroidered canvases, icons, liturgical books and objects. We also saw Ephimia's embroidered cloak made around 1405. the year, which is one of the most lavish works in medieval applied art in the Balkans. It is on silk with gold and silver thread. From the monastery, we went further to the nearby Hermitage of St. Danilo Otshelnik (Hesychast), who convinced Stefan The Great to continue the fight against the Turks and whose grave is in the Monastery of Voronec. Day 4.
The road takes us to the Targu OKNA salt mine, where we drive 3 km by bus 240 m underground. Here we visit the first underground Orthodox Church in Europe– the Church of St. Mary of the Barbarians – protector of miners. In front of the altar on the iconostasis there are 24 icons. The iconostasis, the throne, the beautiful chandelier that lights the church, was made from Salt by miners in 1992. The priest served Sunday morning during our visit. By the way, underground is a whole set of huge corridors with places for rest, entertainment, commerce, etc.
Free time and then leave for Sinai. A short tour Brash. Visit Sinai and visit Peles Castle, one of the best preserved royal castles in Europe. In the magnificent mountain ambience of the Carpathian Mountains it was built in the neo-classical style, in the period from 1873. by 1914. Tour Sinai monastery
Sinai Monastery is a male monastery of the Holy Trinity from 1695, also known as the "Church of the mountain of Bućegi", an endowment of the Romanian nobleman Mihai Kantakuzin, who was enchanted by the impressions from the pilgrimage from the Holy Land and Mount Sinai, upon his return decided to build a monastery and name it after the name of Mount Sinai. Before departing back to Serbia, our group visited the beautiful center of Sinai, the former summer vacation destination of the Romanian aristocracy, and now the most famous and oldest tourist center of Romania.
