Hilandar monastery is located in northern Greece, on the eastern edge of the Chalkidiki peninsula. Hilandar is the fourth in the hierarchy of the Holy Mountain Monasteries and one of the most important spiritual and cultural centers of the Serbian people. It was founded on the ruins of an older monastery in 1198. monks of exceptional reputation, former Grand County Stefan Nemanja (1166-1196) and his youngest son Rastko, the same who created an independent medieval state and an autocephalous Serbian Church. In the long history of Serbia, its monks played a significant role, as the close ties of their monastery to the mother country remained permanent. A large share of Chilandars was also in the development of Serbian literature and art, and the most capable among them, at the wishes of the rulers, came to occupy leading positions in the Serbian Church. The Holy Imperial Serbian Lavra Hilandar is still an important place of pilgrimage and represents the richest Treasury and archive of the medieval heritage of the Serbian people. The monastery has been continuously occupied since 12. today there are more than 50 monks.

Departure at 06.00 in front of the Spiritual Center St. Nikolaj Velimirović in Kraljevo. Expected arrival in Thessaloniki around 14 am.here we will pray in the beautiful ancient Byzantine Temple of St. Demetrius in Thessaloniki, where we will bow to the peaceful relics of St. Great Martyr Dimitri. Homage to the ancestors fallen in the fight for the liberation of Serbia in the first World War at the Serbian Military Cemetery in Thessaloniki on Zeitinlik. Departure to Jerisos, accommodation in rooms / apartments, time for a walk and accommodation.

JERISOS-HILANDAR

HILANDAR-JOVANJICA-PANTELEIMON

The monastery of St. Panteleimon was built on the shores of the small bay in the southwest of the Holy Athenian Mountain, Between the Port of Daphne and the Monastery of Xenophon.
This Russian monastery was founded in the time of the Holy equal-Apostolic Prince Vladimir and was called the families of the Theotokos Xylurgia. In the second half of the XII century, due to the multitude, the brothers moved to upper Rusyk, and at the end of the eighteenth century, the monks moved to the Sea coast in a monastery with the temple of the ascension of the Lord on the site of today's Panteleimon monastery.
The architectural form of the monastery, for the most part, does not have the usual form of fortification, characteristic of Athonite monasteries. The multi-storied buildings intended for the many brothers surround the older, compact center in the form of rectangular buildings with the main cathedral church, built in the XIX century and dedicated to the Holy Great Martyr and healer Panteleimon (9. August).
In this temple, the head of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon and parts of the relics of the following Saints are kept: John the Forerunner, Holy Martyr Stefan The New, Paraskeva, Great Martyr Marina, Joseph the Lieutenant, Apostle Thomas, John Chrysostom and many others. The second Cathedral covering the Most Holy Theotokos has parts of the relics of Saints: John the Forerunner, Apostle Peter, Andrew, Luke, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew and Barnabas, first martyrs Stephen, Isaac of Dalmatia, Dionysius the Areopagite, Cosmas and Damian, Cyril, Tryphun and many others. The miraculous icon of the mother of God called ‘Jerusalem’, the icon of St. John the forerunner, the old icon of the Great Martyr and healer Panteleimon and the icon of the priest martyr Haralampi are also kept here. PANTELEIMON-URANOPOLIS-KAKOVO - PROHOR PCINSKI

Morning in the monastery, in the extension of the liturgy. If time permits, during the morning, we will visit the monastery of Stari Rusik (place of St. Sava monastery ). There are 5km to this monastery, and the hike is uphill. Sailing to Uranopolis. After a rest for refreshment, we will visit the monastery of Milo Arsenica or Kakovo. Hilandar had significant possessions in these areas in the Middle Ages. The size of these estates, rich in forests, pastures, olive groves and vineyards, has varied over the centuries from 10,388 to 1,500 hectares, primarily through shopping malls and occupation by neighbors or refugees from Asia Minor at the end of World War I. Almost all Serbian pilgrims who went to the Holy Mountain and the Hilandar monastery come to this day for a blessing and a gift, but those who fly in some of the nearby resorts.

PROHOR PCINJSKI-STARO NAGORIČANE-SVETI ROMAN-JUNIS-KRALJEVO (ČAČAK / UŽICE)

On the fifth day, we begin with a service and the monastery of St. Prohor Pcinja, and after breakfast in the monastery, if time permits, we will visit the Hermitage of St. Prohor Pcinja, and on our return to Stara Nagoricana we will visit a magnificent example of Serbian construction from the time of Nemanjić, the endowment of St. King Milutin, the monastery of St. George from the 14th century. century. Staro Nagoričane has great importance for the Serbian community in North Macedonia, as Serbs make up the majority of the settlement. Then we go to the monastery of St. Roman and Junis. We arrived at the royal palace around 18: 00.
