Easter in Corfu is certainly one of the most beautiful celebrations of the greatest Christian holiday. Over several tens of thousands from Greece, primarily from Athens, but also increasingly visitors from abroad come to Corfu to experience a unique Christian holiday – Easter. Besides Easter itself, a significant event in Corfu is Holy Saturday, when, after the taking out of the relics of St. Spyridon and the solemn procession is accompanied by a ceremony of throwing jugs from buildings onto central square – Spianada. What is particularly important for us is that it is in Corfu the Serbian army was resurrected, after the ordeal of crossing Albania and suffering unprecedented in the history of warfare.
